Dental Bridges in Stoney Creek

Porcelain Fixed Bridges

Bridges are typically used when you have healthy teeth that the bridge can be anchored to. As such, there are several types of bridges and a consultation with Dr. Mansbridge will help determine which application is best suited for you.

All Dental Bridges that come out of our East Hamilton dentist office are specifically designed for your unique needs. They can be partial, full and even immediate, in that they are ready to be applied immediately after the teeth are extracted. There is also an overdenture that can be constructed to fit over existing teeth while filling the gaps left by extracted teeth. Our dental team at Stoney Creek Family Dental clinic welcomes any questions on any of these applications, to determine the right Bridge for you.

Other issues such as missing teeth can be addressed by our dental office in Stoney Creek. We are just located across from Eastgate Mall. There is plenty of free parking by our office, and we are also accessible from many Hamilton Street Railway bus routes.

The Different Types of Dental Bridges

As a local services provider, we offer premium quality dental bridge treatments near you. We offer four types of dental bridges. After an evaluation of your needs, we will advise you on the most effective way forward based on your specific needs. The four types of dental implants include:

  1. Tradition bridges - which involve securing the new artificial teeth to their adjacent neighbouring teeth by means of a crown

  2. Maryland - this is an effective solution for replacing front teeth. It involves securing the new artificial teeth by attaching them to the back of the other teeth. It’s a seamless solution.

  3. Cantilever - One artificial tooth is effectively secured in the mouth thanks to a crown holding it to another existing tooth.

  4. Implant-supported - this solution removes the need for a bridge or for security from any other teeth. In this case, the implant will hold the new tooth in place perfectly.

The solution that is best suited to your needs can only be ascertained after a thorough examination. It might be necessary to work on the surrounding or adjacent teeth before performing a procedure. This ensures that the supporting teeth are strong and capable. It is important to note that dental bridge treatments may require multiple appointments, depending on the preparation work that is necessary.

It is helpful to note for our Hamilton and Stoney Creek residents that we offer dental implants near them.

What to Expect from your Appointment

Feeling nervous about the procedure? We understand. There’s no need to be anxious, the process is like clockwork for Dr. Mansbridge. However, for those that do benefit from knowing what to expect, here is a generalized order of events, these events may stretch over numerous appointments:

  1. We’ll apply a local anesthetic to the gums around the area that will be worked on. This ensures your comfort during the procedure.

  2. We will work on the surrounding teeth as part of our preparation for a crown. This involves shaping, moving, and general examination.

  3. Next, we’ll create an impression of your teeth using dental putty. This is how we are able to create the perfect fit for your mouth when we create your custom bridge.

  4. We’ll fit you with a temporary bridge or mould while we have your permanent bridge created in a laboratory.

  5. Once your permanent bridge is ready, we’ll fit it by replacing your temporary bridge. We may first fit your permanent bridge with cement in order to give you time to determine whether it’s perfectly in place. If it is, we’ll fit it permanently and if more adjustments are required, we’ll make them before fitting your bridge permanently.

  6. Your maintenance routine will be communicated after the appointment. You can also visit us for regular check-ups and make use of our services that include teeth whitening for Stoney Creek and Hamilton residents.

Other services we offer as a family dentist in Hamilton include dental implants, routine check-ups and cleaning, as well as in-office whitening in Stoney Creek.
